It’s officially holiday season in our house, between the decorations, parties and allllll the festive foods – I am pumped! This is my favorite time of the year, I am able to wear cozy outfits, dress in a billion layers and snuggle with my pups! More importantly though, Aaron and I are so fortunate to be able to do what we love and live the life that we have worked so hard for, because of this we love to give back to those who do not have the opportunities we’ve had. Every year we create a dozen or so bags for men and women who are in need, we host a canned food drive and volunteer our time at a local animal rescue. I am including details below for anyone who is interested in giving back in these ways.
“Blessings Bags” – that is what these bags are more commonly known as. We don’t have a label for them. We have a plethora of drawstring backpacks that we use, in them we have:
-Hand Warmers
-Gloves
-Fuzzy Socks
-XL Sweatshirt
-Band-Aids
-Alcohol Swabs
-Travel Sized Toiletries
-Granola Bars
-Bottled Water
-Feminine Hygiene Items
-Tylenol (small packets)
-A list of homeless shelters and crisis centers in the area with phone numbers.
North Meck Animal Rescue is one of our favorite places to volunteer our time and resources! Here is their website with information on volunteer opportunities as well as sign up to become a volunteer! If you’re a photographer, please consider donating your time to take intake photos of these pups – having professional photos truly helps them find their forever homes more quickly!
Enough about what we do for the holidays, tell me about YOUR traditions!
