Hey, hi, hello! I’m sure you’re wondering what I’m talking about… What IS HCG?! What did I do with it?! Here’s the scoop, I am currently on the HCG diet supervised through Nu Image Medical. It consists of daily injections (with the teeniest needle known to man, an insulin syringe) of HCG and a VERY specific eating plan for either 26 or 46 days! In the 46 day plan it’s common to see weight loss greater than 25 pounds! Say WHATTTT?! Yeah, it seems like witchcraft… Nope, just science!
This is NOT some gimmicky product that claims you’ll lose weight with 5 pills a day and no change in diet, it’s a strict protocol that, if followed properly aids signifcantly in weightloss!
Let me give you guys a backstory, this is not my first rodeo with HCG! About 4 years ago I tried the HCG diet and saw tremendous results, I was able to keep the weight off for years until I had a significant fluctuation in my hormones. My body stopped producing testosterone right after I turned 22! I have my bloodwork done multiple times per year to ensure all systems are working properly in my body and I noticed I wasn’t sleeping as well, I had gained 10+ pounds and wasn’t feeling as fabulous as I was used to feeling. Boom, in comes the realization that my free testosterone levels were just .02! POINT ZERO TWO. Are you kidding me?! How does something like this happen?! Unfortunately we (as in the medical community) don’t know, there isn’t one exact answer. All I know is I gained 60 pounds in the course of about a year. Long story short, my hormones are FINALLY in check and I was ready to make a change in my body and for the health of my joints.
About 3 months ago I decided I wanted to really ramp up my weightloss, I was doing well with my diet, had gotten back into the gym more consistently and wasn’t seeing the results as quickly as I wanted so I turned to my husband and asked his thoughts about utilizing HCG as a kickstart to my weightloss. I began my HCG protocol on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 and have lost a total of 10 pounds in these last 12 days! I have surpassed the goals I set for myself as far as what I wanted to see on the scales, I have also begun FEELING better! My joints aren’t achy, my skin has been more clear with the exception of a small breakout and I am not nearly as tired as I once was! Prior to beginning this diet I felt like I needed 3+ cups of coffee per day to sustain my lifestlye, working from home, keeping our house in order, caring for our dogs, and completing an intense workout each night. I am not down to one cup per day and feeling fab!
This diet, like any other is NOT a permanant fix, it is the START to your new lifestyle, there are different phases of the diet outlined in their eBooks you’ll have access to when beginning the program. The final phase is mainteneance, as you’d expect, this has to do with the after. After HCG how to not undo all of the amazing progress you made!
This protocol is only as difficult as you allow it to be, there is zero room for interpretation as far as the foods you can choose from, meal prep can be done at the start of the day or even each week, and if you stick to a schedule you will get amazing results! If your mindset going into this diet is “oh, it’s only X number of calories per day, I’m going to be starving…” or “really?! I can’t have my morning latte from Starbucks?!” then you’re in for a rude awakening and this diet is going to suck! If you really want to think about all you’re going to be “giving up” replace that latte from Starbucks with 5lbs down or $25 per week saved! You’re giving up the extra weight that you’ve held onto for so long, you are giving up the feeling of achy joints, you are giving up the excuses as to why you can’t lose the weight!
