Guys, these are my absolute fave finds for beginning –> pro photogs!
***If the amazon links aren’t showing, it’s because of your adblocker!***
Because, I’m a rule follower – I want to make sure that you know these are all Amazon affiliate links. What does that mean for you? Well, nothing actually. It just means that I’m making a few dollars when you purchase using these links! You aren’t charged anything extra to pay my commissions, I promise!
Although I have all Nikon/Nikon compatible links below, scroll down to see my fave SD cards, cases, light kits, etc! Take a peek at these fab finds and let me know what you think!
Camera Body
I am a Nikon girl, why you might ask? Because that’s what I invested in – after you start purchasing more expensive equiptment it doesn’t make sense to switch brands unless you really want to. Ya girl didn’t want to. I love my Nikon D610 and D750 cameras, they’re amazing and 100% worth the investment. I shot on crop sensor cameras for the first 2.5 years of my business, it’s doable! If a crop sensor is in your budget, buy that and start investing in full frame lenses (they work on both crop sensor cameras AND full frame cameras like the ones I listed above). If you don’t know the difference, simply google it 😉 there are a ton of awesome resources for newer photogs!
Crop Sensor – Nikon D5600 about $500
This bundle above includes the Nikon D5600 body, a 18-55mm lens and a 70-300mm lens. Will you ever use these lenses? Probably not, but it’s currently (as I’m typing this) just a few dollars more than just the Nikon D5600 body by itself. I recommend getting only the camera body – this is the link: https://amzn.to/3ashHAK
Full Frame – Nikon D750
If you’re going to invest in a full frame camera, I HIGHLY recommend the D750! I was a D610 fan through and through and didn’t want to switch… Until I saw my shutter actuations were at 260,000. Yes, two hundred and sixty THOUSAND shutters. Holy shit. Anyway, it was tax free weekend AND there was a sale going on soooo ya girl jumped. I am honestly obsessed with my D750, it runs circles around my D610 which was the same price, by the way. Google a side by side comparision on the two camera bodies you’re looking at and form your own conclusions. Rent out the cameras you’re interested in at your local camera store. This however is my pick!
Lens
My absolute favorite lens is a Sigma Art 50mm 1.4 and I have a love for prime lenses (cannot zoom)! This practically never leaves my camera body, seriously, I love it THAT much! Here are some other Sigma Art and Nikkor prime AND zoom lenses that you’ll likely love! Reminder, all of these are for Nikon (bc that’s what I personally use), Sigma also makes lenses compatible with Canon! I will also list the Nikon (Nikkor) brand lenses, check out the bougie vs budget friendly distinctions below – alsoooo, all are compatible with full frame Nikon cameras but will also work with crop sensor. I highly recommend buying lenses for full frame before investing in a full frame camera that way you don’t have to buy new lenses when you switch to a full frame camera!

SD Cards + Card Case + SD Card Readers
Soooo, I’m a creature of habit and literally only use one type of card.. These have never done me dirty, I have had my share of issues with other cards not reading on certain card readers or not showing on my camera (cue the heart attacks). Bc of that bullshit, I don’t switch up the brand or type, ever.
Light Kits, Ring Lights, LED Panels + More!
Okay, so I’ve literally been sitting on this blog post for almost a year now because I keep adding/changing shit in it. Going to post it now and update it regularly! Enjoy!
